Intel Vision 2025 is a conference held by Intel for the company to communicate its strategic direction and technological advancements. It marked the first keynote address by Intel's newly appointed CEO, Lip-Bu Tan.

Tan outlined his vision for Intel, emphasising a renewed focus on customers and an engineering-first mindset. His top priority since joining the company has been engaging with customers and listening to their feedback. Tan stressed the importance of earning customer trust and catering to their needs.

He also aims to foster a culture of innovation and empower engineering talent within Intel, acknowledging that the company has lost some talent over the years. Tan's motto is to "underpromise and overdeliver"

An emphasis on Intel Foundry Services came as Lip-Bu Tan affirmed Intel's commitment to becoming a premier foundry. He highlighted that the foundry business is a service built on trust and requires understanding each customer's unique design methodology.

Kevin O'Buckley, Senior Vice President of Foundry Services, discussed the progress of Intel Foundry and the entry of the 18A technology into risk production. This progress is part of Intel's "five nodes in four years" (5N4Y) plan, initiated by ex-CEO Pat Gelsinger, aimed at regaining semiconductor leadership.

Tan mentioned Intel's plans to ship Panther Lake on the 18A node later in 2025, with high-volume production expected in the second half of the year. While earlier roadmaps suggested a 2025 launch, a later update during Vision 2025 listed Panther Lake as a 2026 client product, specifically for mobile devices.

Lip-Bu Tan vowed to change Intel’s culture, aiming to create an engineering-centric organisation that prioritises innovation and customer needs. It's a pivotal event that introduced the company's new CEO and his vision, highlighted progress in its process technology with the 18A node entering risk production, reaffirmed its commitment to the foundry business, provided updates on product roadmaps, and underscored a renewed focus on customer collaboration and an engineering-driven culture.
